Grief is the natural, necessary response to loss. It isn't an illness. It isn't a sign of weakness. It is the measure of what mattered, and in that sense, it carries something worth honouring.
Most grief, given time and the right conditions, does move. It changes shape. What was once unbearable becomes, gradually, something that can be carried, and sometimes something that enriches how we live and love.
But grief does not always move in the way we expect or hope. It can become stuck, locked in loops of pain, guilt, or unfinished emotional business. It can be suppressed, deferred, or complicated by circumstances that made it hard to grieve fully at the time. It can become prolonged beyond what those around us understand, leaving a person feeling isolated with a loss that still feels raw.
Hypnotherapy does not rush grief or treat it as a problem to be fixed. What it can do is offer a quiet, protected space in which grief is allowed to surface, be held, and, when the time is right, begin to shift.
